You can track the status of your consignment conveniently via our “Track & Trace” online service.
Please note that consignment tracking for mail items being sent abroad cannot yet be fully guaranteed for all destination countries.
Postal consignment number formats are as follows:
- Format example for parcels and Swiss-Express consignments: 99.00.123456.12345678
- Format example for Swiss-Courier: 97.00.00123456
- Format example for “Registered” (R) letters: 98.00.123456.12345678
- Format example for Letters with Letter ID: 12345678.123456.123456789 (RRN. order number. consignment number)
- Format example for small consignments: 0031234567891234567 or own reference
- Format examples for international consignments:
- Parcels: CP123456789CN
- Registered letter mail: RC123456789DE
- Priority Plus: LS123456789SG
Enter the consignment number with or without full stops, but always without spaces. For example, the following two formats are possible: 99.00.123456.12345678 or 990012345612345678.
To track consignments, you need the consignment number that has been assigned to each consignment. If you don’t know the consignment number, please ask the sender for it.
The last digit before the letters “CH” is a check digit and is not part of the consecutive item number. This digit therefore has no effect on the sorting of items. The item counter is consecutive. Example: “RN 145 773 216 CH”, where “6” is the check digit.
You can’t enter the last digit yourself as it is a check digit. This is not part of the consecutive item counter.
- Letters, parcels, Express, courier: 2–3 hours after posting
- International consignments: on the same day
- Small consignments: when the consignment is delivered (on the following day at the latest)
This information applies when you mail the consignment at a counter. If you have your consignment collected, it may take a little longer.
We continually update the data regarding the consignment status. The frequency of the updates depends on the type of consignment.
- Courier consignments: approx. 15 minutes
- Express consignments: approx. 15 to 30 minutes
- Parcels: approx. 15 to 30 minutes
- Letters: approx. 1 hour
- International consignments: approx. 1 hour
- Small consignments: no later than the next day
Consignments delivered using the “Special delivery” service are an exception in this regard. In that case, the date of delivery becomes visible the following day at 10 a.m. at the latest.
“Update data” means that during the track and trace process, new results are sought regarding transport. It does not mean that a new (unchanged) event will appear every 15 minutes for each consignment.
Make sure that you entered the consignment number correctly. For certain consignments, it can take up to one day until the initial details are available. If the number is entered correctly and the deadline for data availability has passed, you can request an enquiry online. You will be informed in writing of the results of the enquiry.
