Frank Marthaler (49), head of Group unit Swiss Post Solutions (SPS) and member of Group Executive Management of Swiss Post, is leaving the company on 30 June 2014. After more than 15 years with Swiss Post – seven of which as a member of Group Executive Management – and the successful establishment of SPS, he decided to seek a new professional orientation.

Frank Marthaler joined Swiss Post in 1999 and took on setting up the Group-wide key account management. His duties also comprised identifying areas of innovation with great future potential. Various innovative electronic services such as the electronic patient record vivates, the secure e-mail service IncaMail and the digital signature for electronic business processes were developed under his direction.

Starting in 2009, Frank Marthaler created the Group unit Swiss Post Solutions from a large number of the Group’s own and acquired SMEs. With its 6’800 employees, SPS today generates revenues of above 600 million Swiss Francs in more than 20 countries, ranking among the top ten companies in this sector on a global scale. The handover takes place at the conclusion of a relevant phase in the development of the unit. SPS expects good first quarter results.

Swiss Post’s Board of Directors and Group Executive Management thank Frank Marthaler for his great contribution to the transformation of Swiss Post into a modern service provider.

Thomas Pieper, the deputy head of SPS, will take on the interim management of the Group unit on 1 July 2014. The search for Frank Marthaler’s successor will be launched immediately.
